I have a string of RGB Christmas lights that I want to add to.  I cannot find out the typse I need.  Looking inside the LED case I see 5012.  That doesn't seem to correspond to any common type like WS 2811.  Can anyone shed some like on this?

Thanks so very much.

Apologies for the late reply!

The best LEDs to use are WS2812 in my experience.
The WS2811 is good as well, it's just an older model for pretty much the same thing

Do not get fooled by 12V LED strips, or LED strips with different numbers - you'll run into challenges.
