Rename My TV Series - Not replacing special characters in series name

Hi!

 

I use Rename My TV Series 2.3.12 (Build 21) on Linux and use the default settings for replacing special characters.

 

When renaming episodes of the series "Hubert und/ohne Staller" ( https://www.thetvdb.com/series/253327-show) it doesn't replace the character "/" with "_" but creates the folder "Hubert und" with the subfolder "ohne Staller" (according to the Linux way creating folders).

 

How can I get the correct replacement for the series name?

Apologies for the late approval of the post. During my vacation I did not have much time to check the forums.

This is an odd issue. The name is completely generated without doing anything with the actual file, until the "new" filename has completed.
So replacing "/" with "_" should work just fine.
Just tested this on my Mac (exact same code, same directory separator) and it works correctly.

I'd love to reproduce this issue, so I can fix it, but for now it just works on my setup.

These are my settings, maybe you can see something "different" in yours?

When renaming it looks like this

The output is

.
  |-Hubert und
  |  |-ohne Staller (2011)
  |  |  |-Hubert und_ohne Staller (2011) - S12E06 - Hahn im Korb.mp4

So in the name of the directory "/" isn't replaced with "_". But in the name of the file it's correctly renamed as "Hubert und_ohne Staller".

 

If this should matter: I'm running Linux with btrfs.

Ah OK, we're getting somewhere with the issues, so its the folder naming that is somehow having a bug, which should be a relatively easy fix. 👍 
Thanks for reporting and for the details (sorry if I didn't see this right away as the issue).
Nice find!

This will affect POSIX like OS'es like Linux and macOS, but not Windows.

I'll add this to my to-do list, since creating distributions takes quite a bit of work.
I always try to combine a few bugs into one release.
