I just purchased a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and I'm a Postbox (great and cheap eMail client) user. With the high DPI screen of the Surface 3, you'll get microscopically small fonts, no matter what you try.
After quite a bit of searching I found this trick:
In PostBox go to "Tools" - "Options" - "Advanced" and click the "Config Editor ..." button.
A warning appears, click "I'll be careful, I promise!".
Now type in the edit box:
layout.css.devPixelsPerPx
Change the value (1.0 is default) to a higher number - I had to go all the way to 1.5.
Warning - DO NOT EXCEED 1.5.
It appears (untested) that Postbox will no longer work with values > 1.5.
