Cool to hear you're been using RMTV for a long time already and that it has been quite helpful 😊 

The lock up makes me think that accessing the files is somehow very slow or unresponsive.
Can you try this with a few local files (eg. on your C: drive) to see if it locks up as well.

Also: did you enable ffprobe in the settings?
If so, try what happens when disabling it.

As for ZorinOS - I believe this is derived from Ubuntu/Debian so RMTV most likely just works (there is a Linux version in the downloads).
You can use either the GTK or QT5 version (different widget set).

Having said that: Linux can be rather a pain (from a developers perspective - and I'm not a Linux user).
I'd strongly recommend running ZorinOS in a virtual machine first and giving it a try before switching over completely.
There is a lot you'll need to get yourself familiar with. For example: Dependencies can be a pain.

I'd use VMWare Workstation Player (there is a free version) for this, or Hyper-V (if you have Windows 11 Pro), but maybe there are better options.

If you have Windows 11 Pro, then this is what I found (Google) on how you can start with Hyper-V for free:

In the Windows search bar, type "Turn Windows features on or off" and open it.
Check the box for Hyper-V and click OK, then restart your PC.
Download an ISO file (such as Ubuntu).
Open the Hyper-V Manager, click New > Virtual Machine on the right menu, and follow the setup wizard using your downloaded ISO.

Just found another option to try Zorion OS: Boot from USB with a so called "live" environment.
Of course booring from USB may be slower but at least it gives you the opportunity to give it a try with RMTV.

Thanks for the quick reply and the Zorin suggestions. I am trying to learn it and test programs on an old Imac I was given (don't know how to use Imac either lol) so I am taking it slow. As for the locking up, the ffprobe was enabled when I checked. I disabled it and clicked the add files button and a window opened right away for me to choose files. I loaded files I wanted to change. It had a small delay (said importing files) but did load the files. I can live with that. Thank you for the help.

Not many people need ffProbe, but some really want to see audio and video specifications in their filenames.
Plex probably doesn't care less about that 😉 
So we can skip the ffprobe file analysis.

Note: if things are "slow" then you may check how stable your network connection is - assuming your files are on a networks share.
If this is the case (network) then try to use a wired network instead of WiFi.
Obviously I'm not aware about your setup, just thought I'd mention it 😊 

Thanks again, I am doing the rename local on my computer before sending them to the plex drive. I never thought of my connection that is a good call. I am connected wired on my computer but through a vpn that probably needs me to update port forwarding numbers or something. I consider the problem solved. Best file renaming program ever!

As for your VPN connection: I don't think you need to do any port forwarding, as everything is tunneled through the VPN connection.
The VPN connect can however slow things down especially when using something like OpenVPN (versus Wireguard which is much faster and less resource hungry).
I use WireGuard myself for that reason. 😊
