To make you Raspberry Pi automatically login (for example to login right away when you start the Pi), do the following for RaspBian:

In terminal:

sudo nano /etc/inittab

Scroll down to:

1:2345:respawn:/sbin/getty 115200 tty1

add a hash in front of this line to comment it out so it looks like:

#1:2345:respawn:/sbin/getty 115200 tty1

Under that line add:

1:2345:respawn:/bin/login -f pi tty1 </dev/tty1 >/dev/tty1 2>&1

Ctrl+X to exit, Y to save followed by enter twice.

Reboot you RPi and ... it logs in as the user "pi" automatically.

The best way to help is of course by assisting others with their questions here in the forum, but you can also help us out in other ways:

- Do your shopping at Amazon, it will not cost you anything extra but may generate a small commission for us,
- send a cup of coffee through PayPal ($5, $10, $20, or custom amount),
- become a Patreon,
- donate BitCoin (BTC), or BitCoinCash (BCH).
