For those hating the subscription model of Adobe (like myself) and that are stuck with a broken (old) Photoshop, consider checking out PhotoPea.
It looks, feels and works like Photoshop, it even support layers, effects, actions, transforming with perspective, etc ... it all works! 
Since I only every now and then work on graphics (and previously used Photoshop, as I have been using it since version 1), this has become my go-to graphics editor. It runs in your browser, and once the page has been loaded you can even disconnect your Internet connection and keep working. All in your browser.
Truly amazing how they managed to do this and I highly recommend it.
