I needed my application to be not visible in the Dock, but could not find a runtime answer on how to get that done.

The easiest trick to keep your application from showing an icon in the MacOS X dock is by editing the Info.plist file from your application package.

Adding these two lines will make it that your Lazarus Pascal developed application will not show an icon in the Dock, you will need to add it in the <dict> section:

 <key>LSUIElement</key>
 <string>1</string>
