For those waiting for the Windows 10 update to become reality on their PC, a quick tip so you can stop waiting.

YES, you can upgrade your qualifying Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 to Windows 10 by using the ISO image from Microsoft.

I have been waiting several weeks now for my computers and virtual machines to upgrade to the "free" Windows 10.
Downloading the ISO wasn't all that complicated, Microsoft provides both 32 bit and 64 bit, and the unique link generated will be valid for 24 hours. Get it here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO

After downloading the ISO, we need to create a bootable USB stick which we later will use to install Windows 10.
I found the easiest way to be by using Rufus - it's free and FAST.

Once the media is created, insert it in the computer that you'd like to upgrade (Windows 7 or newer), and either let "autorun" do it's work or double click the "setup.exe".

Windows will first try to update your computer (which is SLOW) and will then automatically upgrade your Windows to version 10.
