Apple MagSafe power supply pinout
December 30, 2013 10:42 AM
For those wanting to dabble with a Apple MagSafe PowerSupply (common with the newer Apple laptops), here the pinout.
I was exploring the option to use it as a 5V power supply, but unfortunately it's giving us 16.5 V (when load is applied).
Without any load on it only 6.8 V is supplied. The connector is magnetic and can be flipped.
pin 1 : Ground (GND)
pin 2 : 16.5V DC
pin 3 : Charge control LED and adapter ON/OFF (when battery is charged)
pin 4 : 16.5V DC (= pin 2)
pin 5: Ground (GND = pin 1)
