Ernie; can you post (attach) the config file from ConnectMeNow?
Feel free to remove usernames/passwords - even though they are encrypted, no need to over expose those .

It will look something like this (I blanked username/password as an example):

[General]
StartAtStartup=1
QuietMount=1
ForceUnMount=0
ServerCount=6
WaitForNetwork=0
WaitDelaySeconds=3
INIVersion=1.8
QuietFail=1
RetryWaitForNetwork=0
[Server_1]
Address=192.168.1.100
Path=AllShares
SSHPort=
Alias=DonkeyBox (AllShares)
AutomaticAlias=0
AddTypeToAlias=0
Type=0
Username=<removed>
Password=<removed>
UseLogin=1
ConnectAtStart=1
ShowsInMenu=1
SendWOL=0
MAC=00:08:9B:D1:E2:9B
WOLMountDelay=20
WOLPort=9
[Server_2]
Address=192.168.1.100
Path=
SSHPort=
Alias=DonkeyBox (QNAP)
AutomaticAlias=0
AddTypeToAlias=0
... etc

You can find the config file here:

For ConnectMeNow v1.7.2 and newer

/Users/Library/Application Support/ConnectMeNow/Settings.ini

For ConnectMeNow version 1.7.1 and earlier:

/Users/.config/ConnectMeNow.cfg

I'm wondering if the Mac Address gets corrupted in the config file ,... or maybe not read properly.

here we go,

there should not be an entry for Server 3, 4 and 5 in the file, only the first two should be there.

regards from bavaria,

ernie

So far I see nothing wrong with the INI file. Well, expect for the "garbage" at the end which should be removed of course.
ConnectMeNow will ignore these "extra" servers, but for all purposes they should have been removed - which shouldn't be too hard to do.

The Mac Address looks good too, so I'm unsure what the "problem" might be.
as far as I understand from you:

1) When clicking "Auto Find Mac", WOL works, one time only.
2) When entering manual, or after restart, WOL does NOT work.

So to me that suggests something goes wrong with the Mac Address, or everything I use for WOL.
Your Mac Address (00:11:32:55:2C:30) looks valid, and you already confirmed that manual an auto have the same Mac Address.

I'll try to run a test here (I'm staying at a hotel in Houston, so not much WOL going on here haha) and see if something weird happens.
Interestingly enough though, miniWOL, as used by my brother-in-law, consistently keeps working just fine.
Debugging might reveal something.

10 days without losing the preferences

Still the same on the WOL front.

Awesome - that's at least some good news!

I have had my brother-in-law do some testing the past few days (I'm still traveling for work), he has a Windows machine running as a NAS, and he has not encountered any issues. So maybe there is something specific I'm overlooking - more research to be done when I get back, because I really want to get it fixed.
