I had to run an update SQL query, which I wanted to run in a script (so I can run it daily).
Took me a bit to find the right way to do this.
Option 1 - straight and simple SQL
sqlite3 mydatabasefile.db 'UPDATE sometbale SET afield=anotherfield;'
Option 2 - take the SQL statement from a file
File (myfile.sql):
UPDATE sometbale SET afield=anotherfield;
Shell:
sqlite3 mydatabasefile.db < myfile.sql
Hope this is helpful to someone ... 😊
