My # of days has been set to 3 for a good while, but I was curious how this exactly works out.
1) It doesn't seem to run in the background, and I usually close rmtvs once I'm done using it.
2) Does it update all hard linked shows on startup, and should it possibly do so?
3) does it update one specific show as Autodetect specifically querry that show. Mouse over info seems to suggest so.
Ā 4) Do you think putting a 0 day value would help ?

You know I have all 3 stooges (data providers) enabled (already discussed and explained why before)
I have very sketchy results from them stooges with current, in-progress shows ( a ton of TBA's among other things or "Episode 7" (when all 6 previous showed an actual episode title)
Ā
These days, I often wonder how rmtvs can be expected to perform well when providers data seems to be added /updated / corrected a "dozen time", all at the very last possible moment, when not a day or two late.
Ā
Again no biggie, I can workaround stooges gone mad, I just like to hear your always-informed take.
Ā
EDIT: I forgot to say; when rmtvs spits out an error (with OK to catch on fire / Abort to quit the app
I have never had any success with the OK buttons, at this point the app is done for: not working at all for anything else, no data corruption or anything, it just stops working period. If you agree with my statement, you might as well remove OK and Abort and put quit/restart buttons instead.

When searching for a TV show, and you select a given show from the results list, RMTV will check if it already exists in the database. If the show already exists in the database, RMTV will check when it was last updated. In your case, if this was more than 3 days ago, all the data for that particular TV show will be updated from that specific data provider.
The same mechanism is being used with the AutoDetect shows as well.
Keep in mind: the name of the show, season number and episode number are the only things that are relevant for auto detect to work. The title of a specific episode is ignored (would be a challenge anyway, considering different languages etc).
All this is done this way to prevent excessive hits on the data providers, and to make sure RMTV keeps a certain speed when pulling data. Shows that you no longer use for renaming will therefor not be updated, until needed.
When this is set to 0 days, then the show will always be updated once RMTV wants to access show and episode details.
