WordPress - Stuck in Maintenance mode

During an update or upgrade, WordPress puts itself into maintenance mode and sometimes this is where WordPress gets stuck.
It does so by creating a file named “.maintenance” (the first character is a period - effectively making the file invisible) in the root folder of your WordPress site.
To fix the WordPress stuck in maintenance mode problem, you’ll need to connect to your server via FTP and delete that file.
