Sometimes it can be confusing what kind of CPU your QNAP has, specially when online information appears to be conflicting (I just got such a question at Amazon).
1. Login to your QNAP with SSH.
2. Type:
cat /proc/cpuinfo
This will give you a long list of CPU details.
In the list below you see that the processor is a Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU D2700 @ 2.13GHz with 2 cores (4 threads).
A "processor" is counted 4 times, and if you look at the line "cpu cores" then you'll see that there are only 2.
Hyper-threading makes it 4 "cores".
