If you have a Nexus 7 and Google has a new Android version in store for you and readily available for OTA (over The Air) updates then the following trick will force an update check and execute the update - if available. This works for WiFi and 3G/4G models.
- Go to Settings -> Apps -> All
- Find Google Services Framework
- Tap on Force Stop
- Select Clear Data
- Go back to the Nexus 7’s Settings, go to About, and check for a System Update.
If a new Android version is available for your device, it will be downloaded and installed now ...
