Running 2.3.15 on Windows 11. This particular bug has been around for a few versions though. There is a series on paramount called Matlock started in 2024. There is also the original Matlock series from 1986. When I try to rename the new Matlock I type in Matlock in the search bar, select Matlock (2024) TVDB, and it populates the episode list correctly, I then load the directory with the files to rename, and the auto select picks the episodes from the original Matlock from 1986 even though that is not in the episode list. So I then delete the auto picks and manually select the episodes and the rename is fine. This happens on all three sources, TVDB, TVMAZE and TMDB. This is the only time I have seen this issue so it is a very low priority bug but interesting. I would attach a snapshot, but the forum says no more attachments are allowed today.
This may be caused by autodetect "knowing" both shwos (in the database) and picking the first match. To prevent this, go to Settings -> AutoDetect options and look under "Autodetect Hard Links".
Here you can link, for example, the phrase "matlock" to "Matlock (2014)" (TDVB 434780). This way it should always pick the newer show (just for Matlock of course).
Unfortunately with all the crazy exceptions, it is very hard to make autodetect 100% watertight. 😞 Let me know if this works for you. 😊
Also: on the "Show and Episode Info" tab, under "TV Show History" you may see the old Matlock listed as well. Removing it there may fix the issue as well - well, until you by accident get the old show loaded into the database again of course. This is why hard links are more reliable, even when the old show is still there, autodetect will still pick the newer show.
p.s. sorry about not being able to post screenshots - it will take 3 approved forum posts before you can post images or attachments. This is unfortunately needed due to spammers 😞
