@dex_luther Seems to be a Windows 10 issue (see my screenshot above of Windows 11). It's very odd though. Not sure why it ignores being forced to be locked into a position (height), but seems to be totally ignoring it.
I've tried something with a new version of 2.3.6 that I just uploaded (replacing the existing 2.3.6), not sure if that would fix this or not - since I'm unable to test it. You'll see the date being updated to today (same version number - link). Give it a try and see if it helps, kinda doubt it though.
@dex_luther Thank you for checking - it is much appreciated.
Bummer, I have to keep guessing as I cannot reproduce the issue on my virtual machine or my Windows (11) laptop. I've spend a bit of time digging through the 3rd party code that handles the darktheme-look, to see if they dropped the ball somewhere, but couldn't find an issue there either.
Indeed weird that happens in Windows 10 only (it seems) - I haven's seen anything like that before, and see no reason why it would fail since previous version of RMTV did not seem to have that problem. The only major things that changed are the darktheme support and 64bit executable.
To reproduce I'd need to go find a Windows 10 ISO file of the exact version you're using. I'll try and see what I can come up with.
Managed to find an ISO file of Windows 10 22H2 Home, created a virtual machine and test RMTV 2.3.6.
No matter how I resize the RMTV window, or what datasource I use (TVDB/TMDB) the info box shows just fine. Can you check the exact version info (run "winver")? I assume you used "Days with my Stepsister" (TVDB data). Correct me if I'm wrong.
I just brought it up because I thought it might have been a small error and a quick fix. It's a small issue, but doesn't seem to be a quick or easy fix since we can't even figure out why/how it's occurring. At the end of the day, it's not really a big deal.
Side Note: Thank you for changing to 64-bit. It's made dealing with anime titles and their sometimes extremely long titles, which make paths and file names insanely long, pretty easy. The 32-bit version used to throw errors because of the long paths and/or filenames, so I'd have to move files around just to rename them. lol
I tested this with Windows 11 (way more finicky when it comes to setting the scaling) and there I do not see this happening, but it doesn't scale either (where as Windows 10 does).
I'll do some tests to see if I can fix this, but I highly doubt it as it may depend on the widgetset "as provided" by my dev tools.
I've uploaded a new version (2.3.7) that should fix this (it did on my virtual machine), please confirm if you can. 😊 It seem to be related to widget scaling working odd in Windows 10 vs my dev tools.
I installed version 2.3.7, and the infobox problem seems to be fixed. I do have the scaling set to 100% because I never understood why people get better screens only to zoom everything in so it looks just like their old 1080p one. I have a 4k monitor because I wanted to see more stuff. lol
@dex_luther Yeah scaling is something I only use when the screen is hires but the display is small (eg. a Retina screen on a 12" Macbook). Otherwise I do not see the purpose either unless someone has bad eyes. Buying a hires screen (unless build in) defeats the purpose if you need to scale up 😉
Thanks for confirming that it works OK now 😊
Note: Windows is terrible when it comes to scaling/hiDPI implementation.
TVDB only appears (for anime) after the cleanup feature is turned off, and then it shows the title in Japanese, despite the English translation of the show being available on the site.
Just to let you know that I managed to find a work-around for this bug - see the new release from today (2.3.10). Took me minute to find where the data was hidden. Searching for "Days with my Stepsister" will now return TVDB properly. 😊
Note: not all dataproviders translate the title properly. I noticed that TVMaze's English title is "Gimai Seikatsu" instead of "Days with my Stepsister", which makes it for the cleanup function impossible to detect if this is a legit result or not. TDVB works fine though.
