While looking into this, I found this picture showing the thickness of wires needed considering the Amps. This is probably not the most scientific way, also consider looking for the AWG value of a wire, but at least it got me started looking in the right direction. So I'm posting this here for my own reference, and maybe it is useful for others as well.
