Very cool! Well, I presume they must have some Indian connection, which isn't a big deal.
Not sure if it is cost related, since for the same price they could have gotten a .com domain 😉
Again: if it works great and support is great as well, then that isn't even relevant anymore 😉

I did give it a spin on a VM (4 cores / 8Gb RAM assigned), but to my surprise it ran slower than Manjaro.
Maybe Manjaro has a better optimization for running as a virtual machine? Then again, running on bare metal and having better support for your SSD's could indeed make a significant difference ...

I stopped playing with it yesterday after getting a little annoyed with it (by my lack of experience - I just couldn't find where to do certain settings).
I'll go try again today 😉  - did you get the KDE version as well?

On that note: I'm considering selling my Mac Pro (12 core, 24 threads, 64Gb RAM, 1Tb SSD, dual GPU) and do a new build myself. The Mac Pro, as powerful as it is (it is really fast), just doesn't support the GPU's I need for VR (and I don't see an eGPU as a "real" option).
So for a new build I'm considering AMD as well ... maybe wait a little until the new GPU generation appears on the market (the new AMD, and the new 3000 series from nVidia) - hopefully that pushes the GPU price a little down so a good GPU becomes more affordable.

Another reason to sell, is also that I'm getting sick and tired for the endless changes that impact me as a developer.
So time to either go back to Windows (yuk!) or dive into the Linux world and see if it can offer what I need. We will see 😉

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of Manjaro and Garuda 😊

Not to be rude but don't over think it, and besides it's India NOT China. Yea I always use the kde version. Things are in the same locations in it as in any KDE desktop. The biggest difference is the standard panel being replace with a Latte dock. I dumped Latte and installed KSmooth dock, and added back the default panel. As for VT I only have a ryzen 3 3200g and I know it will handle VT with my nVidia 1650., all I need is to double my memory.  As to building your own system I strongly recommend it. Bought my first system back in 95 and have built every system since that one. Now to  be honest I do occasionally throw a OS into a VM to check it out, but I believe it is still the case where Intel is better for VM. You might want to do some research on that. With a large SSD like that there is no legitimate reason not to dual boot Windows and whatever flavor of Linux that works for you.

You're right, I shouldn't overthink things 😉
(and no, you're not rude)

My lack of [Linux Desktop] experience probably made me being annoyed with Garuda hahah.
I wanted to try again yesterday, but then got interrupted and ended up doing nothing haha.
I'll figure out how to dump Latte and replace it with KSmooth (this may be a challenge for me hahah).

I used to build my systems all the time. But when I switched to macOS (which I like much better than Windows!), around 2008, building my own was no longer really an option. Sure I could build a Hackintosh but in the end this would not be stable/reliable enough to work with on a daily basis.

A nVidia 1650 will work just fine with VR (as does my 1060). However, the newer headsets have a much higher resolution (like the Index Valve and HP Reverb G2), and anything less than a nVidia 1080 TI will have issues or switch to half resolution - unfortunately.

On my Mac I run virtual machines for Windows and Linux, several actually, and for development and testing purposes this works great. Since Apple will move to their own (ARM based) silicone, I suspect smooth running VM's may (!) be something of the past. I also dual boot my Mac (Windows 10 / Mac), but the Mac GPU's are just useless for VR and more advanced games.

Given all this, I'm seriously thinking of doing a new build again. But I'll first have to sell my Mac Pro to get some cash for a new build 😉
Also: I'm waiting a little to see what AMD (CPU and GPU) and nVidia will come up with in the next few months.

If anything dealing with Microsoft and Apple should make you annoyed.

As fore latte just open the software manager from the tray and search for it. once uninstalled just search for ksmooth and install it.

I truly hate what Mac stands for, cause they got caught removing software the enduser placed on their systems without letting the user know they were doing it, so as to keep the OS from possibly becoming unstable. They ended that practice awhile back but still they did it.

As for the cpu's, and GPU's new lines are due. Or should I say new generations anyway.

Oh yes bot annoy me big time haha.
I really do like macOS though, even though Apple is far from perfect as well.
Microsoft, even though it may not be obvious to most, is possibly even worse.
When I see everybody complain about applications needing to be signed (at $99/year) under macOS, then I always wonder if they looked at what is being charged under Windows for the exact same thing ($200 and higher ... per year!).

Oh well, for the moment, I'm stuck using to either Windows or macOS because of some of the tools that I use that are simply not available under Linux - unfortunately (like Photoshop, and no, GiMP is cool but it is not even close to Photoshop). I do see that Steam and others have done a ton of work to get quite a few Windows games run under Linux (sometimes even better than under Windows). So there is hope 😊

Thanks to you tip, I managed to remove Latte and install kSmooth. Thanks again for the tip! 👍

CPU's and GPU's - yeah, I hope it will push down the prices of existing CPU's and GPU's a little.

Neither company is a saint by any stretch of the imagination. As for pricing lot less difference than you think. Before 10 Microsour came out with a new OS on average every 3 years at 300 dollars. Now CrabApple was 30 dollars every 3 months for 360 every 3 years.  Even Apple being roughly 60 dollars more over 3 years I'd rather pay that extra 60 cause coming up with 30 every 3 months is FAR easier than try to come up with 300 all at one time.  OK now that said what I came here about.

I did a fresh install of Garuda giving over the entire OS drive to it(after backing up the Manjaro and Garuda partitions I had on it). RMTV worked straight out of the gate. The only issues I'm having are when I drag episodes to RMTV it does not auto search and find the show. The second issue is when I manually look for the show looks like it's only searching one database instead of all 3.

EDIT:

The last show I added was the 8 episodes for the latest season of Lucifer, and yes the original file names / format was something RMTV should of recognized.

You're absolutely right; neither are saints. Apple however has been updating OS versions for free for at least the past 10 years. Well, that is if your hardware supports it 😉  (not entirely unfair, and mostly related to 32 vs 64 bit CPU's).
And ... if you get a Windows 10 Pro license at Kinguin (€25) things aren't all that bad either (I use them for my Virtual Machines and for BootCamp).
But both are not making life easier or cheaper 😉

Back to the topic at hand; It looks like you're using an old version (2.0.10), AutoDetect was not yet implemented in that version.
Give the 2.1.1 beta a try 😊

Yea just happened to notice that I had the 2.0.1 instead of the 2.1.0 I thought I had. When I deleted the old files / folders I must of kept the wrong one and not noticed.

Hey just wanted to check in and see how things are going with you and your linux use. I also had one question, and that is do you happen to know a good GUI based video metadata editor for Linux?

Hey there! 😉

Well, I haven't had much time yet to run full Linux ... since I'm also debating on building a PC (have to sell some of my hardware first though, to be able to afford it), and I'm thinking of using that as my starting point 😁

As for a video meta editor; not sure what you're looking for?
Just a pure meta editor: I wouldn't know one unfortunately ... 😞
I've heard/seen several command line tools, or small tools (GUI) that only support a specific format (eg. just MP4, or just MKV).

If you're looking for specifically movies, and not just for editing metadata, the TinyMediaManager is a good option.

If there is nothing out there, then this maybe calls for making a tool 😊

Sorry should of been more specific. All I need is something that I can edit the metadata title so it matches the actual title I gave the file. Since neither Plex nor Emby are smart enough to search by file name instead of the metadata I want to correct the metadata names.  There are just too many times where in Emby or Plex where I've had to remove all the erroneous information from the title they chose to give a movie or TV series cause they pulled all the info from the metadata instead of the file name.

Ah OK - In see what you mean. RMTV has the option to update meta data at least for the title and a few details like air date.

Not sure if you had already tried this, but it is under Preferences -> Renaming Rules -> Metadata Options -> "Update or add Metadata" (you can choose the filename, of a name to your own liking (formatted like the filename format string). But this may not be enough ... did you have any fields/data in particular in mind?
(note: not all container formats support all metadata fields)

OK let me try this on a file and see what I get. If it works TV series are at least covers for now. As for the data I had in mind it's just the name of the show. examples below.

Now:

metadata title - Raised.by.Wolves.2020.S01E04.WEB.X264.PHOENIX

file name - Raised By Wolvers (2020) S01E04 Nature's Course

What I'd Like

metadata title - Raised By Wolvers (2020) S01E04 Nature's Course

file name - Raised By Wolvers (2020) S01E04 Nature's Course
