For those who like to play with Photo Booth for the ocassional funny face but do not know where the Photo Booth pictures are located:
In Finder choose from the menu "Go" - "Go to folder" and enter one of these paths ...
This is where the original pictures (without effects) can be found:
~/Pictures/Photo Booth Library/Originals/
And this is where the pictures with effects can be found:
~/Pictures/Photo Booth Library/Pictures/
