You've seen them all over the web: the MD5 checksum displayed next to some downloads.
So how do you run an MD5 check on your Mac?

Pretty easy, from terminal:

md5 somelargedownload.iso

which results in something like this:

MD5 (somelargedownload.iso) = 686fb2f51f124622bded7049de3d9b46
