I added Lord Of The Flies for my roommate to shows to be grabbed by Sonarr and that went fine. he issue is when I drag the episodes to RMTV or attempt to navigate to them they never add much less does RMTV tell me what the name will be after renaming. I have dragged episodes for other shows to test and they don't have any issue. I recently install Garuda and I noticed with a few shows that I had to remove their listing and let RMTV readd them then all was good. I'm including the 4 videos and a copy of my settings so you can see if you get the same issue.

I'll add the link when the files finish uploading.

I started the download and will look at it maybe tonight or tomorrow and see what may be going on. 😉

Typical reasons why it may not be added:

1) wrong or unsupported file extensions
2) corrupt video files while you're using ffprobe and ffmpeg

Will get back at ya 😉

Download went faster than expected haha ... (I'll delete the post)

Extensions look OK.

Test results:

1) Adding the files to RMTV worked just fine, AutoDetect picked it up right away (very well formatted filenames!)
2) Renaming worked fine as well (without ffProbe)

3) Tested ffProbe as well, which works OK as well

I guess I'm not sue what to tell you. 😞

Things that come to mind:
- Access Rights?
- Paths with special characters?

What are you settings in RMTV?
And what do the source paths look like (I would assume you've used it before)?

OK used sudo chmod -R 775 "/mnt/My Files/" to change the permissions on my main drive for files. Just tested those episodes again and 1 other and all seems good. As for settings I would think my preference file would tell you what my settings are.

Ah I stand corrected, apologies, I somehow overlooked the other directory - maybe I was too focussed on getting the video files haha. 😉
Anywho; glad to hear you got it working. 👍

Thank you for sharing the fix - access rights can be such a pain to deal with.

Thought I'd give you an update. From what I'm seeing these issues are two parts. First TVDB. Uncheck it as search engine and RMTV finds shows without issue. Second ffmpeg. Seems that certain updates for it cause the issues with not updating the metadata and not copying the files to a new location. here have been at least 3 ffmpeg updates in the last month and there have been varying issues with each update. Seem like they finally addressed everything with the last update.

Appreciate the update 😊

TVDB is notoriously know for "messing" with the data in ways we do not like. This is why I added TMDB and TVMaze quite a while, not to mention the ginormous and messy search results TVDB produce at times.

Sounds like good news on ffmpeg.
It remains an amazing tool, and its good to see they actively keep improving it.
Thanks for the heads up though, I'll try to build new versions (which can be a serious pain for all 3 platforms, and at times quite daunting for me what all the options are for when doing a build) for the next release.

Still looking for an alternative when it comes to metadata editing.
For example, one user reported mkvpropedit to be significantly faster than ffmpeg - unfortunate that it only supports MKV. 😞
