@hans OK I didn't see the move option. I'll test a file to trash, but it would be nice to have an option to out and out delete the file. As for permissions they can be changed for any number of reasons. A program update thinks this permission needs to be changed, new ISO released and the devs think this permission is better for this program than what the default is, etc.... Hence the headache.
EDIT: OH SHAT "COPY to new location", original remains untouched" should do the trick. All I have to do is change how I do things a tiny bit. Normally my episodes get grabbed by Sonarr and downloaded into "Torrents and then I copy the video files to my "Last Night's folder, launch RMTV, drag from Last Night's to RMTV. I can just launch RMTV, drag the video files from the "Torrents" folder to RMTV, and make Last Night's the destination. Let me give that a try and get back to you with what I get.
We can either delete the file never to be seen again or send it to the trash. I for one prefer to completely get rid of what I'm deleting rather than send it to trash where I have to empty trash. Saves a couple of steps.
OK just tested with the below and all looks good. Original in its original folder and only the renamed copy in"Last Night's". PERFECT. Thanks a lot. This makes the out and out delete option I asked about a mute point unless others are interested because of their settings.
Yeah the Trashcan is for those that worry about loosing files due to a glitch or something. Not using the Trashcan very often either. 😉 I'll tag this topic as solved then.

Yea I get it cause with the later versions one sometimes has to crash the program and relaunch it to add the files they want otherwise it can just sit there doing nothing.
@hans OK played around a bit more by replacing the one I had installed with the GTK version and the 4 test files I was using populate instantly instead of taking several minutes and or having to crash and restart RMTV.
@cccp64 Oh wow, was the one you had installed a different version and/or Qt5 instead of GTK? Just curious if the widgetset (Qt5 vs GTK) is causing the slowdown or one or the other version number of RMTV.
It's been a while I looked into this (as mentioned before: the file handling code has not changed in the past 5 years), but maybe this helps:
Uncheck "Rename files starting with ..." - this should prevent it from doing anything with the NFO files. Do note though that this will affect SRT files and other "extra" files as well (in case you need them).
As for the Qt5 version ... hmm, weird. I have to admit that I find Linux messy and its not my daily driver - so I lack a lot of experience. I only have a virtual machine running to build Linux versions and I have encountered my share of weirdness with both Qt5 and GTK (actually: GTK2). Not to mention the weird behavior with all the different versions of "libQt5Pas", per distro occasionally needing the latest version (link), which then did or did not work or would introduce new problems. Also finding it a little weird that this is placed in a separate library and not right away in the compiled binary. But who am I to judge - there probably is (I hope) a good reason for this 😉
If you mean renaming the SRT files no worries there cause I never rename them. Typically if it's a show I need subs for first when playing I attempt to download the subs via SMPlayer while the episode is playing, load them through SMPlayer if they were provided, or go directly to a sub site and grab them.
Now that said I just tested last weeks Foundation with that unchecked and worked perfectly. Thanks for the quick fix.
@hans Might want to movie my post to their own thread, cause first I didn't mean to Hijack the OP's thread and second I have another odd one for the app.
