I have one central folder for all my Lazarus Projects and with the arrival of MacOS X Yosemite, I created a custom icon for that ... for those that are interested, get it here for free .... (you need to be logged in though)
Use the Command+i when selecting the folder and drag the .icns file on the icon in the information window.
