[Solved] Lazarus - Controls do not repaint?

I ran into the problem that a control (status indication label) did not repaint after chaning it's caption, je before calling an Execute of a TProcess.
With a lot of tinkering I finally find out that calling Appliction.ProcessMessages
twice did the trick.
Label1.Caption:='Status Message ...';
Label1.Invalidate;
Application.ProcessMessages;
Application.ProcessMessages;
