For those who use Windows 8 or newer, you might have ran into the so called “Windows 8 Mode” of Google Chrome. In this mode, Chrome (browser, apps, and desktop) are now screen filling – not what I’d like to see!

Disabling this mode took a few minutes to find, but it’s there.

Open the Google menu (the3 horizontal striped button, in the upper right corner), and choose “Relaunch Chrome on the Desktop”, and Chrome will now restart in the old fashion windowed mode.

Want to go back to “Windows 8 Mode”? No problem – in the same location you will now see the option to switch to Windows 8 mode …
