<p>To force a virtual machine to power off:</p>
<ol>
<li>From the VMWare Fusion menu bar, select the <strong>Virtual Machine</strong> menu.</li>
<li>Press and hold the Option (Alt) key.</li>
<li>You'll see some options in the menu changing: Restart becomes <strong>Reset</strong>, and Shutdown becomes <strong>Power Off</strong>.</li>
</ol>
<p>Even when your VM doesn't show the "Shutdown" option, it will show the Power Off option!</p>]]></content:encoded>
