If you mean renaming the SRT files no worries there cause I never rename them. Typically if it's a show I need subs for first when playing I attempt to download the subs via SMPlayer while the episode is playing, load them through SMPlayer if they were provided, or go directly to a sub site and grab them.

Now that said I just tested last weeks Foundation with that unchecked and worked perfectly. Thanks for the quick fix.

It's been a while I looked into this (as mentioned before: the file handling code has not changed in the past 5 years), but maybe this helps:

Uncheck "Rename files starting with ..." - this should prevent it from doing anything with the NFO files.
Do note though that this will affect SRT files and other "extra" files as well (in case you need them).

Again: haven't looked into this for years now.

As for the Qt5 version ... hmm, weird. I have to admit that I find Linux messy and its not my daily driver - so I lack a lot of experience.
I only have a virtual machine running to build Linux versions and I have encountered my share of weirdness with both Qt5 and GTK (actually: GTK2).
Not to mention the weird behavior with all the different versions of "libQt5Pas", per distro occasionally needing the latest version (link), which then did or did not work or would introduce new problems. Also finding it a little weird that this is placed in a separate library and not right away in the compiled binary. But who am I to judge - there probably is (I hope) a good reason for this 😉

renamemytvseries-qt-bin. Also you should know the GTK version was removing the .nfo file from the original files location and moving it

to the new created files location. So far I have not found any setting that would cause this behavior.

@cccp64 Oh wow, was the one you had installed a different version and/or Qt5 instead of GTK?
Just curious if the widgetset (Qt5 vs GTK) is causing the slowdown or one or the other version number of RMTV.

@hans OK played around a bit more by replacing the one I had installed with the GTK version and the 4 test files I was using populate instantly instead of taking several minutes and or having to crash and restart RMTV.

Yeah the Trashcan is for those that worry about loosing files due to a glitch or something

Yea I get it cause with the later versions one sometimes has to crash the program and relaunch it to add the files they want otherwise it can just sit there doing nothing.
