Sometimes you would like to access certain configuration files, for example editing KODI config files or downloading screenshot on PC or Mac.
So how do you enable a network share on your NVidia Shield so you can access files from your PC?

Note: This may require Plex to be installed.

Go to Settings -> Device Preferences -> Storage & reset -> Transfer files over network, to turn this feature on.

You'll be presented with a Username, Password (predefined) and IP Address needed to access the SMB share (also known as Samba share, Microsoft Windows Share). Make sure your PC is on the same network as your Shield.

Windows (in Explorer):

\\<IP-ADDRESS>

For example:

\\192.168.1.100

MacOS (in Finder: Go -> Connect to Server):

smb://<username>@<ip-address>/

For example:

smb://yourusername@192.168.1.100/
