The downside is that I typically have a lot of stuff going on when taking a screenshot, so it produces a lot of layers.

The easiest way to hide multiple layers at one is easier than I thought it would be:

  1. Select All the layers you'd like to hide.
  2. Right click (or CTRL + left click) the little eye in front of one of the layers.
  3. Click "Hide this layer".
This will hide all the selected layers - see also the attached screenshot.
