<p>When downloading <strong>fpcupdeluxe</strong> for macOS, then you may run into the dreaded "<strong>fpcupdeluxe-aarch64-darwin-cocoa.app” is damaged and can’t be opened</strong>" error message. I've had this only on my M1 Mac, but this may happen on Intel hardware as well of course.</p>
<p>* this may apply to other applications as well, when not downloaded from the Apple Store.</p>

<p>A fis for this, is running this in Terminal:</p>
<pre contenteditable="false">xattr -cr fpcupdeluxe-aarch64-darwin-cocoa.app</pre>
<p>which <strong>c</strong>lears <strong>r</strong>ecursively the e<strong>x</strong>tended <strong>attr</strong>ibutes of the files in the .app bundle and resolves the issue.</p>
